The Associated Press is reporting that Obama’s Undersecretary for the Treasury for International Affairs, Lael Brainard, is now joining the ranks of Ron Kirk, Tim Geithner, Tom Daschle and Nancy Killifer or nominees who had tax problems.
The difference between Brainard and the rest is that her liabilities were small in comparison to the others.
Andrew Williams the Treasury spokesman stated that Brainard is current with all taxes. She was late making property tax payments for property in Virginia in 2005, 2006 and 2007. It also has also been reported that Brainard had to adjust a home-office deduction on a 2008 return.
